Jefferson County Library Cooperative - Jefferson County Library Cooperative
Den Jefferson County Library Cooperative ( JCLC ) er en 501 (c) (3) skattefri pædagogisk konsortium af offentlige biblioteker i Jefferson County, Alabama . JCLC's administrative kontor ligger på Birmingham Public Central Library . Medlemsbibliotekerne i kooperativet er autonome , hvor hver og en opretholder sit eget bestyrelse , direktør og budget .
Historie
Jefferson County har haft en landsdækkende offentlig bibliotekstjeneste siden 1924, men der blev ikke startet nogen gebyrtjeneste for Jefferson County-borgere i 1978. I 1985 blev den reorganiseret som Birmingham Area Library Services under rammen udstedt af Alabama Public Library Service . I 1997 blev det omdøbt til Jefferson County Library Cooperative og fungerer fortsat som en non-profit- uddannelsesorganisation.
