Welcome![edit]

Hello, G-Lignum, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Draft:Science of Wood, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, ask me on my talk page. You can also type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! Fram (talk) 07:26, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Science of Wood requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://books.google.be/books?id=MUq3EAAAQBAJ&pg=PA25&dq=%22wood+and+moisture+relations%22&hl=en&newbks=1&newbks_redir=0&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjZwMrsxvyBAxXmcaQEHfNzDpAQ6AF6BAgNEAI#v=onepage&q=%22wood%20and%20moisture%20relations%22&f=false and (Very close paraphrasing). For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I do accept this. G-Lignum (talk) 07:42, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem: Draft:Science of Wood[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello G-Lignum! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Draft:Science of Wood, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted material from other websites or printed works. This article appears to contain work copied from https://books.google.be/books?id=MUq3EAAAQBAJ&hl=en, and therefore to constitute a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate your contributions, copying content from other websites is unlawful and against Wikipedia's copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are likely to lose their editing privileges.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text to be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

See Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries for a template of the permissions letter the copyright holder is expected to send.

Otherwise, you may rewrite this article from scratch. If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Draft talk:Science of Wood saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved.

Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:53, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

G-Lignum, you can rewrite the text at this special page (follow the link to reach it). Please don't copy any compromised content from the previous version (that would make your rewrite useless!), or make any attempt to edit the blanked version of the draft. If you have questions you can ask them here. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:58, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! However, I had written and uploaded (already before I see your message) the following article, fully with my own words. Please check and examine it, Wood science - Thanks for the kindness. G-Lignum (talk) 19:11, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi G-Lignum, please do not simply blank redirects, if you believe that a redirect does not belong, please nominate it for deletion at WP:RFD, first reading the notes at the top of the page before nominating. Happy editing! Justiyaya 12:44, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am preparing a new one (article) right now (wood anatomy) ... that's why I did this. Sorry for not knowing the rules. G-Lignum (talk) 12:56, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Rainer Marutzky moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Rainer Marutzky. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 16:07, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I think you are right. It is weak in the references. G-Lignum (talk) 20:06, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Urea into Bosch-Meiser process. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 14:07, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I do apologise for this. Truly, I did not know this rule. G-Lignum (talk) 16:17, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries! DanCherek (talk) 00:29, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A cup of coffee for you![edit]

Thanks for that helpful original contribution at Peter Niemz; I'm learning quite a bit about wood science this month - no bad thing! Klbrain (talk) 08:31, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good for you! WOOD is a fantastic material, but not only this, also plenty chemical materials, that originate from the mother Nature! Thanks much for your comment! Stay tuned then. G-Lignum (talk) 16:34, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Since you love pharmacology, you -of course- know these (from wood & bark); Paclitaxel, Taxuspines, Docetaxel and others! Wood is good! I forgot; THANKS much for the coffee; actually, I do love it. G-Lignum (talk) 16:40, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A relatively new metric, but it has had enough discussion in different sources to warrant inclusion.
